Ex-KISS Keyboardist Gary Corbett Has Passed Away, The Band Pays Tribute

The official Twitter page of KISS shared a farewell post after the passing of award-winning keyboardist Gary Corbett who previously toured with the band for their 1987 ‘Crazy Nights World Tour.’ In addition to their farewell message, the band members send their condolences to the late keyboardist’s family.

For those who may not know, Gary Corbett is widely recognized for his work with KISS when the band hit the road for ‘Crazy Nights World Tour.’ During the tour, Corbett played offstage keyboards and handled background vocals while promoting the band’s LPs ‘Crazy Nights,’ ‘Hot In The Shade,’ and ‘Revenge.’

In between KISS tours, Gary Corbett managed to tour and record with many other artists including Cinderella when he teamed up with the band for their ‘Heartbreak Station’ tour. As well as touring with the band, the keyboardist recorded with the band for their track, ‘Hot and Bothered.’

Unfortunately, Gary Corbett’s passing was announced on July 14, 2021, via a statement released by his family on his official Facebook page. The musician passed away after battling very aggressive lung cancer that had metastasized to his brain and hip.

Gary Corbett’s family shared the following statement on Facebook:

‘It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the Cohen/Corbett family needs to let everyone know that after a hard-fought battle with cancer Gary Corbett passed away last night on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.”

While his fans left dozens of comments under the post to pay their final tribute to the musician, KISS also shared a post on its official Twitter page dedicated to Gary Corbett. The band announced the passing of the keyboardist while expressing their sadness after losing a fellow musician, and informed their fans about their history with Corbett.

In addition to this, the band shared a picture of the late Gary Corbett in which he’s playing the piano and send their condolences to his wife Lenora and his family. After mentioning the amazing times KISS members had while touring with Corbett, fans left numerous comments under the post expressing their grief for the loss of a great musician as well.

In the Twitter post, KISS members shared:

We are shocked & saddened to learn of the passing of Gary Corbett to cancer. Gary played keyboards on Paul’s first solo tour & with KISS during the Crazy Nights, Hot In The Shade & Revenge tours. We shared many great times & send our condolences to his wife Lenora and his family.”
