The Dead Daisies’ Doug Aldrich shared a new statement on Instagram following a scary diagnosis.

“Hi everyone….Hope all is great where you are!” the guitarist started his words. “Some of you have been wondering about my treatment and recovery so…Four weeks of Radio treatment done and two to go!”

He went on to talk about his health status, “I’m doing better than expected…not losing weight and getting through it. I have a few issues but I feel blessed that it’s stuff I can deal with. Basically my neck is burnt badly from getting zapped everyday but it will heal up good when I’m done.”

“Jaw is still pissed off at me and I’m tired a lot but otherwise I’m good,” the rocker revealed. “Thank you so much for all the prayers and well wishes cause it really really has helped me a lot. Hope you guys are still enjoying the ‘Light ‘Em Up’ record, and I look forward to seeing you asap. Happy Holidays wherever you are!”

In September, the Dead Daisies announced that Aldrich would miss the band’s tour because of his cancer treatment and also revealed his replacement. The group shared on Instagram, “Hi, to all Daisies fans.  We have some crappy news we’d like to share… Unfortunately, Doug has been diagnosed with a treatable throat cancer and has to undergo surgery this week.”

They added, “Moving forward, Doug will not be available for the next run, and subsequently long-time good friend & band mate from the Whitesnake days, Reb Beach, will be filling in for the upcoming European dates.  Please join us in wishing Doug all the best for a speedy recovery.  We look forward to having him back on deck really soon. We’ll keep you posted!”

Later, Beach also spoke about temporarily stepping in for Aldrich on the last part of their European tour. The musician wrote on Facebook, “Hey everyone! As you may have heard, my longtime friend and bandmate from Whitesnake, Doug Aldrich, has recently been diagnosed with a treatable form of cancer. Doug is a fighter, and I know he’s going to make a full recovery, but he’s taking some much-needed time off to focus on his health.”

Beach noted, “In the meantime, he’s asked me to step in for him with The Dead Daisies on the final leg of their European tour, and I’m truly honored to do so. I can’t wait to hit the stage with that killer band, some of which are good friends of mine!! Most importantly, I want to wish Doug all the strength and a speedy recovery. We’re all behind you, brother, and we know you’ll be back in no time.”

Aldrich joined the Dead Daisies in early 2016, replacing Richard Fortus, and has stayed with the band since. He is the longest-serving member after founder David Lowy.
