Comedian David Letterman revealed he was afraid of the Green Day drummer Tré Cool.

In a new short snippet shared by Consequence on their X, David Letterman is seen talking about Green Day and the drummer’s end-of-the-show movements. He explained why he was scared of the drummer:

“Green Day. Whenever Green Day would be on, I was frightened by the drummer. And because whenever they would finish he would charge the desk and lunge at me to the point I assumed he was kidding around or perhaps he wanted to actually hurt me. But looking back at it, [I say,] ‘Wow, what a great experience that was.'”

Green Day Appeared In Many of Letterman’s Shows

Letterman has had his own live talk shows and night shows, where he hosted Green Day many times for live performances. During the band’s appearances in the show, Tre Cool got up behind the drum kit when the performance ended and threw himself on the floor.

These were not the only times the drummer moved around like a kid. In most of the band’s shows, the rocker made it one of his signature things to get off behind the drum kit and wander around and sometimes even switch instruments.

Below, you can listen to Letterman’s words and see a few of the shows where Tre Cool lets himself go.
