Dani Filth, frontman of Cradle of Filth, addressed the band’s lineup changes in a recent interview with Loud And Proud Italy.
“We sacked three people over the span of our career. And it was all a long time ago, like 20 years ago at least,” Filth stated. “People leave the band because it’s just a lot of commitment, a lot of hard work, a lot of traveling, a lot of mental disrepair.”
“As in the case of our previous guitarist, people leave to start families and find that the lifestyle is a bit too hectic,” he continued. “Or they just think they can do it better or just drift apart.”
The statement emerges at a significant time in the band’s history. They continue to evolve with their latest lineup changes.
Reports from Loudwire detail the band’s 2022 personnel changes. Guitarist Richard Shaw and keyboardist Anabelle Iratni departed the group. Donny Burbage and Zoe Marie Federoff joined as their replacements.
The demanding lifestyle Filth described manifests in their rigorous touring schedule. Data from Consequence shows the band completed an extensive spring 2022 North American tour. The schedule included multiple headlining dates and festival appearances, demonstrating the intense commitment required from band members.
These recent changes reflect a broader pattern in the band’s three-decade history. They have experienced numerous lineup shifts while maintaining their position in the extreme metal genre.
Insights from Blabbermouth reveal the band’s focus on their future with the current lineup. They are preparing to release their fourteenth studio album, ‘The Screaming Of The Valkyries,’ on March 21, 2025.
