Due to the competitive nature of the music industry, there is usually a fierce rivalry between most bands in the business. However, women of metal and rock usually support each other in the male-dominated scene. Speaking to Metal Hammer, Cristina Scabbia argued that some claim Evanescence made bad remarks about Lacuna Coil, but she hopes it’s fake news.

Amy Lee is close friends with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, and they are great examples of female representation in the rock and metal scenes. The two support each other and try to empower other women in the scene, as there are more men than women in the rock music industry. However, recently some claimed that Amy Lee wasn’t really supportive of Lacuna Coil.

According to Cristina Scabbia, some outlets claim that other women-fronted bands in the scene, such as Evanescence, speak ill of Lacuna Coil. The singer said she hoped they were fake and argued Amy Lee would tell her the same. Moreover, Scabbia added that they had never met Evanescence before and weren’t jealous of their success.

“I read some interviews,” said Cristina Scabbia, “and I really hope they are fake, and one day I’ll meet in person with Amy, and I am sure that she will tell me that they were fakes, in which some Evanescence members were actually saying bad things about us. I was just like, ‘We never met. We are not jealous of your success. What’s the point?’ You never know about rumors because they’re 99.9% bullsh*t.”

So, Cristina Scabbia doesn’t believe Evanescence members said bad things about Lacuna Coil. Instead, she claims Amy Lee will probably tell her they aren’t real when they meet in person. It’s safe to say that they’re probably nothing but rumors hoping to cause drama, as Amy Lee is known for her endless support for other women in the scene.
