Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery recently addressed speculation about the band’s upcoming album. He clarified his personal faith journey and its potential influence on the new material in a statement shared on Instagram.

Lowery’s comments came in response to numerous questions from fans about whether Sevendust’s new record would be a Christian metal album.

“What’s up, everybody?! Real quick, I’m finishing up the writing for the new Sevendust [album], stuff I’m doing at home,” Lowery said. “I just wanna address something really quick. I’m getting a lot of questions about whether the new Sevendust is gonna be a Christian metal record.”

The guitarist went on to share details about his personal spiritual journey over the past year.

“And I’m just gonna tell you from my personal experience, my personal journey. I am a Christian, I’ve been saved for a year and it’s been the journey of my life. I love it. I’m embracing it fully,” he continued. “Now, is this gonna show up in the songs that I contribute to the band? I’ve always — we’ve always touched on those experiences. We’ve always touched on life.”

Lowery explained how his recent experiences would naturally influence his songwriting approach.

“This last year’s been a lot that — I’ve been through a lot and I have a lot to write about and I have a lot to say and I have a lot to do in terms of honoring the person and the God that has put me back on my feet today,” he said. “So, yeah, there is gonna be, for me, songs that I would like to just lyrically touch toward my faith. And that’s just something that, it’s just natural, it’s always happened. We’ve always written about what we go through and what we’ve seen.”

The musician emphasized his commitment to his faith while acknowledging he cannot speak for his bandmates.

“And I’ve been affected, and it’s been a powerful message, and I will stand bold with my Christianity. I can’t speak for the rest of the guys. I know they have great hearts. I know they know God. And we don’t know what this record’s gonna turn out like,” Lowery concluded. “So I just want y’all to know that we’re gonna do our best to make the best record possible. And I’m gonna honor God in the best way that I possibly can. And I hope y’all have a blessed day.”

Lowery’s spiritual revelation comes at a significant time in Sevendust’s career. The band continues to build on their impressive legacy in the metal scene.

Wikipedia reported that Sevendust has maintained a strong presence in the metal community since their formation in 1994 in Atlanta. The band has released fourteen studio albums and achieved three consecutive RIAA gold certifications. The band’s ability to evolve while maintaining their core sound has been a hallmark of their three-decade career.

The timing of Lowery’s announcement coincides with the band’s busy touring schedule. Blabbermouth noted that Sevendust is currently gearing up for their Fall 2025 U.S. acoustic tour, celebrating the 21st anniversary of their acoustic live album Southside Double-Wide. The tour will feature stripped-down versions of their most powerful songs. It will run from November 14 to December 12 across various cities including Columbia, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and San Antonio.

Loaded Radio confirmed that special guest Cory Marks will be opening the shows during this acoustic tour. This intimate format may provide an ideal setting for Lowery to showcase any faith-influenced material in a more personal context.

The band’s recent creative output has been prolific, with their latest studio album Truth Killer released in July 2023. Looking ahead, Sevendust is scheduled to tour Europe with Alter Bridge in early 2026. This marks their first European co-headlining tour with the band, further demonstrating their continued relevance in the international metal scene.
