Carla Harvey recently opened up about her departure from Butcher Babies, sharing her perspective in an interview with AL.com.

Harvey revealed that her split stemmed from a significant disagreement with the band. She explained that she was unable to join a tour due to a serious eye injury, which led to the band continuing without her.

Harvey said, “I couldn’t do a tour [in the fall of 2023] because I had a serious eye injury, and they went and did a tour without me. Then it was, like, ‘Well, we’ll just do the band by ourselves.'”

She further reflected on the experience and the emotional impact it had on her. “When you have put your heart and soul into something for so long and you do get kind of squeezed out of it, there’s a moment when you’re, like, ‘I can either lay down and not do anything else, or I’m not gonna let someone else tell me when I’m fucking done doing what I do.'”

Harvey’s comments shed light on the challenges she faced. They also highlight her determination to continue pursuing her passion. Further developments regarding her career may follow.

Harvey, who co-founded Butcher Babies in 2010 and fronted the band through five albums and two EPs, officially parted ways with the group in July 2024 after fans noticed her absence from posts and live dates.

Since leaving Butcher Babies, Harvey has launched a new musical project called The Violent Hour with her husband, Anthrax and Pantera drummer Charlie Benante, releasing a self-titled EP in 2025 that blends rock and metal styles with guest appearances from high-profile musicians.
