Carl Sentance recently addressed his departure from Nazareth. He shared his thoughts in a video statement posted on Facebook.

The statement focused on thanking his supporters and announcing his upcoming musical plans for 2026.

“Hey, guys. Merry Christmas to you all. You’ve probably already heard about my departure from Nazareth,” Sentance said. “I wanna thank every single one of you for supporting me over nearly 11 years. 11 years — can you believe it? It’s crazy. Time flies, but now it’s time to move on.”

The vocalist then outlined his plans for the coming year. He expressed enthusiasm about returning to his roots.

“2026 is gonna rock, guys, for me. It’s gonna be wonderful,” he continued. “We start off in Japan, Tokyo, with the Lords Of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal [Lords Of NWOBHM]. Back to the roots. Yes. And the 22nd of January, I start my solo tour again. It was a success last year, so come and see us. Check out the dates on my web site, carlsentance.com. It’s gonna rock, guys. Come and rock with us. 2026. Happy New Year. We’ll see you then. Yes.”

Sentance’s departure marks a significant transition for both the vocalist and the legendary Scottish rock band. His exit comes after a decade-long tenure that saw him step into the challenging role of replacing founding frontman Dan McCafferty, who retired in 2015.

BraveWords reported that Nazareth have already named Italian singer Gianni Pontillo as their new frontman following Sentance’s departure. The band has moved quickly to ensure continuity. They presented Pontillo as the replacement for their longtime singer role.

During his time with Nazareth, Sentance contributed to the band’s recorded legacy. BraveWords noted that he appeared on two studio albums during his tenure, including “Tattooed On My Brain.” This helped maintain the band’s creative output during a crucial period in their history.

The lineup change represents part of a broader transition for Nazareth as they continue their musical journey. Ground News revealed that the Scottish hard rock band announced the major lineup change as a parting of ways. They emphasized their commitment to moving forward with new energy and direction.

Sentance’s nearly 11-year run with Nazareth now concludes as he prepares for his solo endeavors and collaboration with Lords Of NWOBHM. This marks the end of an era for both the vocalist and the iconic rock band.
