Different genres appear every now and then, but good old rock always seems to carry on through young artists. This usually makes some of the cult names of rock quite proud, and Bruce Springsteen appears pleased to have encouraged some younger artists to carry the torch of rock. Recently, the rocker expressed how glad he is with his legacy while speaking to RBB.

It might be safe to say that Bruce is a modest guy, even though his nickname is the Boss. The singer’s not one to brag about his years-long achievements, but just this once, Springsteen seemed happy to take some credit and honor his friendship with some younger acts. So, as the rocker discussed his legacy carrying on through new generations of artists, he also mentioned a few names.

“It’s fun to see that young kids have picked up what you do and turned it into something of their own, you know?” exclaimed Bruce as he disclosed how proud he was to leave a legacy behind. “I love Sam [Fender]; I got some friends in the Killers and the Gaslight Anthem, guys who, you know, I have some influence on. Great young guys, making great records. So, it’s nice to have passed on like that. I’m very proud of it.”

Well, having influenced the sound of several younger artists sounds like quite a success. What makes this success all the more worth mentioning is that Bruce Springsteen has actually cultivated a relationship with these artists. However, Bruce is not the only one who has a few things to say about the younger rock acts. Check out what Tool’s Maynard James Keenan advised aspiring young rockers who want to make it in the rock scene.
