Grand Funk Railroad is now down to four members with the recent split of Bruce Kulick.
Playing his last ever show with the band on December 14 in Marietta, Ohio, the rocker shared the news on his Instagram account. He shared his message with the fans with a picture of himself from the stage. His statement read:
“Thank you to the members of Grand Funk Railroad: Don Brewer, Mel Schacher, Max Carl, and Tim Cashion for these past 23 years of making great music together. I have departed the band, my last show was on Dec 14th in Ohio.”
More Details On His Departure

Formed in 1969, Grand Funk Railroad has been active since its formation. Kulick joined the band after their second disbandment in 1983, reforming for the third time with a new lineup in 1996. Spending almost three decades with the band, the guitarist detailed the reasons for his split in a recent exclusive interview with Ultimate Classic Rock.
Touching on the difficulty of working with a band non-stop sharing additional details, he said:
“I really wanted to look at what I wanted to do personally and creatively. I’ve always loved playing with Grand Funk for all of those years, but all of that travel for most weekends of every month, all year, the time involved became more and more difficult.”
Kulick Might Have Good News For Kiss Fans

While emphasizing that nothing is certain yet, Kulick expressed enthusiasm about various possibilities, particularly the potential to dedicate more time to commemorating his Kiss era, being aware that newer generations continue to discover his previous work with the band. Reflecting on his association with a band of such immense fame and influence on youth, he said in the same interview:
“It’s just remarkable that I was involved with a band with that kind of fame and that kind of influence on the youth. Every generation going from there, that they haven’t forgotten me at all is wonderful.”
So, some more news might be on the way.
