Bring Me The Horizon have removed the official lyric video for Black And Blue (2026 Repented) from YouTube. The decision followed backlash over the apparent use of AI-generated visuals.
The track serves as the first single off the band’s upcoming Count Your Blessings Repented, due out on July 10th. The video was pulled after fans voiced their frustration online over the use of artificial intelligence in the promotional material.

Fans were divided in their reactions to both the AI-generated video and its subsequent removal. Some expressed disappointment, while others questioned whether the backlash was warranted.
“It’s kinda lame they’re using AI but they’ve been using it for a couple years now so I think I just accepted it,” one fan said. “Although they could do way better than this.”
Another fan echoed similar sentiments about the band’s creative direction.
“Love the song, but I thought BMTH were more creative than this (if it is AI),” they said.
Not everyone agreed that the controversy was justified, however. One fan pushed back against the discourse surrounding the video’s removal.
“This discourse is so f*cking stupid,” they said. “An artist made this. They probably took down the lyrics cause they’re cringe as f*ck.”
The band has yet to release an official statement addressing the removal. Count Your Blessings Repented remains scheduled for release on July 10th and is available for pre-order.
The controversy is not an isolated incident for the band. It is the latest flashpoint in an ongoing conversation about their relationship with artificial intelligence and creative authenticity.
Bring Me The Horizon have drawn criticism before for incorporating AI into their visual output. The band has faced similar debates in recent years over the use of AI-generated imagery in their promotional materials. A portion of their fanbase has grown increasingly vocal about the practice.
Count Your Blessings Repented carries significant weight beyond its commercial release. The album marks the 20th anniversary of the band’s 2006 debut Count Your Blessings, a record that helped define the early British metalcore scene. Frontman Oli Sykes has described the re-recording as a form of creative reckoning with the original. He has framed it as an opportunity to revisit and refine a chapter of the band’s history that has long been a point of reflection.
Sykes has also acknowledged that the Count Your Blessings Repented project has had a direct impact on the band’s broader release schedule. A separate new album originally planned for later this year was pushed back to avoid the two projects overshadowing each other.
The timing of the AI backlash adds an unwanted layer of noise to what was intended to be a milestone release. With the album’s July 10th date approaching, the band will likely need to address the controversy directly if they hope to shift the conversation back to the music itself.
