The two shows will take place in London and Glasgow in April 2027, with special guests joining each date. The band will feature original core members Eric Bloom and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser alongside the current lineup.

The tour follows the band’s sold-out London Palladium show in 2025. The band said: “Rock legends Blue Öyster Cult will return to the UK in April 2027 for two landmark shows, marking 60 years since the band first formed and 55 years since they took the name Blue Öyster Cult. The ’55 Years On Tour – 1972 to 2027′ dates follow the band’s sold-out London Palladium show in 2025, and give UK fans another chance to see one of the defining classic rock bands in full flight.”
Blue Öyster Cult continue to record and perform as a working studio band. The announcement noted: “The band is led by original core duo Eric Bloom (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser (vocals, lead guitar), alongside Richie Castellano (guitar, keyboards), Danny Miranda (bass) and Jules Radino (drums). Blue Öyster Cult remain a working studio band. The Symbol Remains (2020) was their first new album in 19 years, and its follow-up, Ghost Stories, arrived in 2024.”
The two U.K. shows will celebrate the band’s five-and-a-half decades of touring.
Blue Öyster Cult began in 1967 as Soft White Underbelly at Stony Brook University on Long Island. Eric Bloom joined the band as tour manager on Christmas Day 1968 and became their vocalist the following year. The group has sold 25 million records worldwide, with hits including “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”, which reached Number 12 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart in October 1976, “Burnin’ for You”, and “Godzilla”.
Bloom and Roeser have led the band through countless tours across small theaters, state fairs and casino resorts throughout America. The two U.K. shows mark their return to British audiences and offer fans a chance to see the band perform in prestigious venues. These April 2027 dates come after the band demonstrated continued fan interest with their sold-out London Palladium performance in 2025.
Ghost Stories, released on April 12, 2024, marks the band’s fifteenth and final studio album. The album contains material recorded between 1978 and 1983, along with a Beatles cover “If I Fell” recorded in 2016, featuring mostly songs from the original quintet of Bloom, Roeser, Albert Bouchard, Joe Bouchard and Allen Lanier alongside current guitarist Richie Castellano.
