Blink-182 has announced the release of a deluxe edition of their iconic 2001 album, as reported via their official Instagram. The Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (25 Year Anniversary Edition) is now available, marking a quarter century since the record’s original release — though not all of it will be accessible on every platform.

Alongside the anniversary release, bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus addressed the availability of the edition’s bonus tracks, making it clear that streaming platform Spotify will not be getting them.

“Take Off Your Pants And Jacket (25 Year Anniversary Edition) is out now everywhere,” the band announced.

However, Hoppus was direct about the limitations of that “everywhere.”

“‘Time to Break Up’ (song from Take Off Your Pants and Jacket) will never be on Spotify,” Hoppus said. “The bonus tracks are never coming to Spotify. Never ever ever. Not gonna happen. Ever ever.”

The anniversary edition marks a significant milestone for one of pop-punk’s most celebrated albums. Fans looking to access the full release, including the bonus tracks, will need to look beyond Spotify to do so.

The release brings renewed attention to an album that has long held a special place in pop-punk history — and to a set of bonus tracks that fans have been chasing on streaming platforms for years.

Take Off Your Pants and Jacket was originally released on June 12, 2001. As Scene Dude reported, it became Blink-182’s second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, cementing the band’s status as one of the defining acts of early 2000s pop-punk.

The bonus tracks, however, have remained a point of frustration for the fanbase ever since. Reckless Press noted that the bonus songs have been absent from both Spotify and Apple Music since the album’s original release. The 25th anniversary edition does little to change that reality on those platforms.

The absence has never appeared to be accidental. Blink-182 Online reported that Mark’s management previously confirmed there were region-related complications surrounding the tracks. Fans have long suspected the holdback is intentional, pointing to the fact that the songs have remained off streaming services for well over two decades despite the band’s continued activity on those platforms.

A Change.org petition calling on Spotify and Apple Music to make the bonus tracks available has existed since 2019, reflecting just how long this has been a sore spot for the community. With Hoppus now shutting the door firmly on any Spotify release, that petition will remain unfulfilled — at least for the foreseeable future.

For fans who want the complete anniversary experience, the message is clear: find another way to listen.
