Pinhead Gunpowder, the band featuring Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, has announced a fall 2026 North American tour with 12 shows, as reported on Instagram.

The band includes Aaron Cometbus, Green Day’s longtime touring guitarist Jason White, and Bill Schneider. They made the announcement with details about ticket sales and supporting acts.

“Pinhead Gunpowder Live! Tickets on sale 5/21/26! With support from Night Shop for midwest and east coast dates and Constant Insult for west coast,” the band announced.

The tour will feature different supporting acts depending on the region. Night Shop will join for midwest and east coast dates, while Constant Insult will support the west coast shows.

This announcement marks a significant return for the punk rock outfit. The band has maintained a relatively low profile in recent years while Armstrong focused on Green Day’s massive global success.

OC Music News reported that Pinhead Gunpowder first formed in Arcata, California in 1991 and last toured about 16 years ago, making this a long-awaited return to the stage. The band emerged from the Northern California punk scene with humble beginnings, featuring Crimpshrine drummer and fanzine writer Aaron Cometbus alongside Armstrong.

The upcoming tour represents a rare opportunity for fans to see Armstrong in a more intimate setting compared to Green Day’s arena shows. Pinhead Gunpowder has always operated as Armstrong’s creative outlet for exploring different musical directions outside of Green Day’s mainstream punk rock sound.

ILoveNY.com confirmed that one of the dates includes a performance at Irving Plaza in New York on October 14, 2026. The tour is scheduled to wrap up with the final show at Garden Amp in Southern California, bringing the band’s cross-country journey to a close on the West Coast.

The band’s return comes at a time when many veteran punk acts are reconnecting with their roots and smaller venue performances, offering fans a more personal concert experience than typical stadium shows.
