Former Arch Enemy vocalist Angela Gossow recently issued her first statement regarding the band’s new singer Lauren Hart. She shared her thoughts on the transition and addressed former vocalist Alissa White-Gluz’s departure in a post on Instagram.

The statement provided insight into Gossow’s personal relationship with Hart and her role in bringing the new vocalist to Arch Enemy.

“My sister at heart. Such a warm and genuine human. We share the same taste in music, the same vocal technique and dedication to music, people and fitness. We have known each other personally since many years. Been following her journey with Once Human, was hoping for her breakthrough. Then I crossed my fingers for her joining another known metal band. Didn’t work out. She never gave up!” Gossow said.

Gossow revealed her initial plans to form a new band for Hart before circumstances changed within Arch Enemy.

“Then I was looking into putting a new band together for her – thinking a cross over between Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy/ In Flames and Machine Head/ Once Human style. I asked her to send in various cover tracks to get a full picture on her vocal skills ( she crushed!) and started scouting for musicians fitting her talent,” she continued.

The former vocalist explained her decision not to rejoin Arch Enemy and how Hart ultimately became the band’s new singer.

“And then things happened in the Arch Enemy camp. I thought hard about rejoining the band. I looked at my life, my age, my still young children, my workload as the manager for Arch Enemy. And the answer was no. Both emotionally and also rationally. We received many applications from great vocalists all over the world. I put Lauren forward to the guys. Michael connected. She recorded vocals in December 2025. She rose. Like a Phoenix to the sky. So intense. So glorious. She is Angela reincarnate. Exceeding my skills. Ready to last for decades. I am honoured and humbled to be working with her. Finally.”

This statement comes amid significant changes within the Swedish melodic death metal band. It marks another chapter in Arch Enemy’s evolving lineup history.

Metal Injection reported that Arch Enemy confirmed parting ways with White-Gluz on November 23, 2025, after her 12 years as frontwoman. White-Gluz had joined the band in 2014, replacing Gossow who stepped down to focus on her family while remaining as the band’s manager.

Gossow’s history with Arch Enemy spans over two decades. The Gallery noted that she first joined the band in 2001, replacing original vocalist Johan Liiva. She fronted the group for 13 years until stepping down in 2014. During her tenure, she helped establish Arch Enemy as one of the leading melodic death metal acts worldwide.

Recent speculation about Gossow’s potential return to vocals was fueled by the band’s social media activity and cryptic teasers. However, Louder Sound revealed that Gossow herself denied these rumors, stating: “It’s not ME! But thank you for all the love! I am really excited to be involved in this new chapter as the manager.”

Meanwhile, White-Gluz has already begun her solo career following her departure from Arch Enemy. Louder Sound confirmed that she has released her first solo single titled “The Room Where She Died.” This marks the beginning of her independent musical journey that she had been planning since 2016.
