Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser revealed the band’s farewell tour plans in a recent interview with Metal Hammer.

“We are planning to do a very big show in São Paulo, Brazil, or in [Sepultura’s original hometown of] Belo Horizonte,” Kisser said. “We’re still balancing these ideas.”

“But at the end of 2026, we’d like to do this last show,” he continued. “We’d like to stretch out the tour. There’s no reason for us to stop in a hurry just because we announced the last tour two years ago or so. We had a great time last year.”

“This year is already looking great,” Kisser added. “We’re doing Lollapalooza in South America — Brazil, Argentina and Chile. We have a few shows in Central America, a few festivals this year in Europe, a few special concerts. In 2026 we’d like to do all the big festivals and finish in Brazil.”

The legendary Brazilian metal band has established several significant milestones for their farewell journey.

Blabbermouth reported that the band launched their ‘Celebrating Life Through Death’ farewell tour on March 1, 2024. The opening show at Arena Hall in Belo Horizonte marked their first performance with new drummer Greyson Nekrutman.

The band structured their farewell tour across a three-year span. This extended timeline enables them to reach fans across multiple continents and participate in major festivals.

Metal Addicts revealed the band’s work on an ambitious live album project. They are recording 40 songs across 40 different cities throughout the farewell tour.

The recording project captures the band’s most energetic performances at various venues. They plan to potentially include their final show in the package, creating an enduring testament to their legacy.

The choice to end their career in Brazil carries special meaning. This decision brings Sepultura’s journey full circle to their origins, giving fans the opportunity to witness their final performance in their homeland.
