In Flames frontman Anders Fridén has confirmed that the Swedish metal band has completed recording their fifteenth studio album. He shared the news in a recent post on Instagram.
The announcement came as Fridén reflected on the recording process and expressed his excitement about the completed work.
“Laughs, frustrations, genius ideas, fabulous decisions, friendships, amazing drums, bass and guitar with a little vocals sprinkled on top… it’s done,” Fridén said. “In Flames 15, here we come.”
The completion of recording marks a significant milestone for the Swedish metal pioneers. The album still requires mixing and mastering before its eventual release.
Loaded Radio reported that the band worked with producer Howard Benson at his Los Angeles studio for this latest effort. This continues their collaboration that began with 2016’s “Battles,” establishing a productive working relationship that has spanned multiple albums.
The upcoming release will be particularly notable as it marks the first full studio album featuring drummer Jon Rice. Blabbermouth noted that Rice joined the band after Tanner Wayne’s departure and has been touring with In Flames since May 2025, bringing his experience to the recording process.
This fifteenth studio album follows 2023’s “Foregone,” which was released through Nuclear Blast Records. Chaoszine confirmed that the band continues to tour in support of “Foregone” while preparing for the release of their latest work.
The Swedish metal innovators are also planning an extensive European tour for summer 2026. This will coincide with the promotion of their new album. While no official release date has been announced, the completion of recording represents a major step forward in bringing the band’s fifteenth studio effort to fans worldwide.
