Alice Cooper sat down with Southern Accents Radio’s Dave Cobb and talked about his explosive stage antics and the only time he ever walked off stage after someone from the audience threw a powerful firecracker onto the stage. Cooper shared what was thrown on stage during a performance in Ohio; he said:
“It was, it was an M-80. It almost blew the guitar player’s hand off. And so that was the only time I ever walked off stage. It was in Toledo, Ohio.”
When Cobb asked whether that was the show that the crowd tore up the stage, the rocker explained:
“No, that, you know, that was, well, there were a couple of things like that.”
Even though Cooper has had crazy experiences with crowds over the years, he’s confident that nothing will happen to him; he continued:
“Well, the last band that you want to attack is Alice Cooper. Everything on that stage is a weapon.”
Cooper is known for having dangerous stage shows where he uses swords, different kinds of knives, a guillotine, and blood in his live shows. So, it’s likely that during rehearsals or performances, accidents happen, which is why Cooper previously said on Sydney Taylor’s ‘Metal From the Inside’ podcast that new band members are bound to get stitches at one point or another.
