Slaughter to Prevail frontman Alex Terrible has addressed the intense online backlash following the announcement of the band’s North American fall tour with Rev3rent. The controversy erupted after Rev3rent fans called out the band for collaborating with Slaughter to Prevail. They cited longstanding Nazi and transphobic allegations against Alex Terrible.
In his statement, Terrible reflected on the recurring pattern of backlash the band faces whenever they bring support acts on tour. He also extended an understanding offer to Rev3rent to exit the tour if they wish.
“We just announced our U.S. tour for this fall, and we’ll be announcing a Latin American tour soon as well,” he said. “I remember there was a time when we toured by ourselves, and people kept complaining that we didn’t have an opening band. So we started inviting support acts, and every single time the same thing happens. Fans of those bands start calling us Nazis and say they don’t want to see their favorite bands touring with us.”
Terrible went on to explain why he personally finds it easier to tour without support acts, and addressed Rev3rent directly.
“That’s why, personally, it’s much easier for me to tour alone, without any support acts, so they don’t have to deal with the backlash or damage to their reputation,” he continued. “I don’t want to hurt anyone’s reputation. So if Rev3rent decides not to be part of this tour, I’ll completely understand and wish them nothing but the best. I genuinely like their music, and I believe they have a bright future ahead of them. As for us—a band from Russia with a bad reputation—we’ll keep walking our own difficult path. At least it’s never boring.”
This is far from the first time Slaughter to Prevail has found itself at the center of controversy. The pattern Terrible describes has played out repeatedly throughout the band’s touring history. The current situation with Rev3rent is the latest chapter in an ongoing struggle the band faces when attempting to build collaborative relationships within the metal community.
Terrible has consistently denied the allegations leveled against him. He has stated that he is not racist, homophobic, or a Nazi, and that critics have misinterpreted the symbols and imagery associated with him and the band. He has maintained this position across multiple public appearances and interviews, framing the accusations as a fundamental misreading of his artistic choices.
The controversy surrounding Slaughter to Prevail is not limited to North America. The band is scheduled to appear at Rockstadt Extreme Fest in 2026, and similar disputes over Terrible’s participation have already surfaced in Romania ahead of that event. Calls for the band’s removal from the festival lineup have echoed the same allegations that have followed them throughout their international touring career.
The North American fall tour is part of a broader touring push for the band. Terrible has also confirmed that a Latin American tour announcement is on the way. Despite the persistent controversy, Slaughter to Prevail continues to maintain an active global touring schedule. The backlash, while vocal, has not significantly disrupted the band’s operational momentum.
It remains to be seen whether Rev3rent will proceed with the tour or take Terrible up on his offer to part ways amicably.
