Shinedown’s Zach Myers discussed the current success of Creed and Nickelback in an interview with 101 WRIF.

“They were crushing, and they’re back to crushing again,” Myers said about Nickelback’s popularity in 2010. “It’s so funny to me that people tried to make fun of these bands, and it backfired on them so hard.”

“They sell out every show,” he continued. “They tried to make fun of Creed and then they tried to make fun of Nickelback and now they’re the biggest rock bands there are again.”

“I love that,” Myers added. “And honestly, it couldn’t happen to better people. Every single person in Creed is the nicest guy. Every single person in Nickelback is the nicest guys. They’re all great.”

Recent developments in the rock music scene support Myers’ observations about the bands’ resurgence and commercial success.

A study by Consequence revealed that Generation Z has embraced post-grunge music. Young fans are discovering these bands through social media platforms like TikTok.

Blabbermouth reported that Creed and Nickelback will co-headline the ‘Summer of ’99 and Beyond’ festival. The event will take place at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin, in 2025.

Loudwire highlighted the historic significance of this festival appearance. This marks the first time these influential rock bands will share a festival stage since 1999.

The bands have transformed their public image significantly. They have evolved from frequent targets of criticism to celebrated acts. Their success now includes sold-out tours and a strong presence in today’s music scene.
