Erik Grönwall wants to break free from the music industry after leaving Skid Row.

“So, the latest on the solo project is that I’m going to start releasing new music,” the singer said in a live stream on his official YouTube channel when a fan asked about his solo stuff. “I’m going to release the first single in April and then I’m going to do one cover and one original song a month.”

He continued, “I’m going to put it on the YouTube channel, just going to release it and build from there. That’s it. I’m not going to…I might do like a distribution deal with a label but I’m not gonna sign to a label as an artist. There are a couple of deals to consider but I’m just going to…”

“Maybe I’ll find someone to help me with traditional media but I’m going to build it from the YouTube channel and just put the music out there and just do music that I’ve always wanted to do. Music that I grew up listening to,” the rocker revealed.

Grönwall added, “I love the ’50s, ’60s nerve to the music I write and so there might be some elements of that in the music but yeah, I’m working on it right now. I got a couple of demos and it sounds like the way I want it. It’s really exciting.”

“Maybe I’ll need some kind of help from a label in the future but I’m gonna stay independent for as long as it makes sense but there’s only so much one man can do. The bigger it gets the more people you need,” Erik also shared elsewhere in the live stream when another fan told him to stay independent.

Grönwall also posted on Facebook about what fans should expect from him this year. He wrote, “Hey hello! Here’s what you can expect if you’re following me in 2025! MUSIC RELEASES: 1 Cover Song Per Month. I’ll be reimagining some of my favorite classics, adding my twist to them. Expect a fresh take on an old favorite every month! The first cover song this year will be out February 7th for everyone!”

“1 Original Song Per Month. It’s happening! I’ll be releasing my original music. Each song will debut on YouTube and all major streaming platforms simultaneously. GRÖNWALL is coming – get ready! The first original song will be released April 18th,” he then noted.

In the rest of his post, the singer also said that he’ll be doing a live stream on YouTube every Friday at 9 PM and a members-only live stream every Thursday at 9 PM. He will also sing live sometimes but it has no fixed time.
