Tommy Vext recently announced his plans to rebuild Bad Wolves with entirely new members. He shared details about the band’s current status in a post on Instagram.
The former Bad Wolves vocalist revealed he is actively seeking new musicians for his project, stating: “Looking for professional, sober, tour-experienced guitarist, bassist, and drummer for new band. Comment below who you think I should jam with.”
Vext also addressed questions about his relationships with former bandmates and the band’s future direction.
When a fan asked about his current relationship with his former Bad Wolves bandmates, Vext provided a detailed response about where things stand.
“Me and John [Boecklin, Bad Wolves drummer] had dinner in March and hugged it out,” Vext said. “Been really close with Chris [Cain] for the last 3 years, and we are writing new music together.”
He continued to explain the more complicated relationships within the group.
“Personally I want nothing to do with Kyle, and Doc doesn’t want to make amends despite my attempts,” he added. “Presently, everyone has quit the band, including DL, and John is reforming with all new members again for the third time.”
This development follows the departure of guitarist/vocalist Doc Coyle and bassist/vocalist Kyle Konkiel from Bad Wolves. It also comes after vocalist Daniel ‘DL’ Laskiewicz joined Falling in Reverse.
The current upheaval represents the latest chapter in Bad Wolves’ turbulent history. The band has been marked by significant lineup changes and internal conflicts since its formation.
The PRP reported that the departures of Doc Coyle and Kyle Konkiel from Bad Wolves occurred in April 2025. The split was described as amicable, and fans were thanked for their support. The band subsequently brought back former guitarist Chris Cain and announced Kevin Creekman as the new bassist. Creekman previously played bass in Vext’s solo band and appeared in the “Killing Me Slowly” music video.
The situation became more complicated when Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz left Bad Wolves in June 2025. Laskiewicz had served as the band’s vocalist since 2021. SNS Mix noted that Laskiewicz joined Falling in Reverse as a bassist for their European tour. This added to what has been described as an identity crisis currently facing Bad Wolves.
Laskiewicz made his debut with Falling in Reverse at major festivals including Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. This marked a significant transition in his career. Wikipedia states that Bad Wolves was formed in 2017 and gained widespread recognition with their cover of The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” The song became a massive hit following the death of Cranberries vocalist Dolores O’Riordan.
These recent changes come as both Vext and the remaining Bad Wolves members navigate a complex period of lineup transformations and evolving creative relationships. Vext has hinted at what he calls a potential “crazy comeback” following the complete lineup overhaul.
