Tommy Lee Shares A Health Update Before Mötley Crüe Tour

Tommy Lee recently took to Instagram to share a health update, including details of his hand surgery and recovery process, ahead of the band’s upcoming tour.

In his social media update, the drummer posted photographs illustrating his hand’s condition immediately following surgery and during the healing process. In the caption, he wrote:

“5 weeks ago today, surgery was done! Healing, hands, hero, Dr. Glenn Cohen.”

His bandmate Nikki Sixx left a comment under his post, writing:

“Happy you got this behind you, buddy. Let’s rip sh*t.”

Overcoming Hand Challenges

About two weeks ago, the rocker expressed gratitude towards Dr. Glenn Cohen for successfully addressing two critical issues that had previously impeded his musical performance. Lee’s caption revealed the emotional impact of regaining full use of his hand, as he wrote:

“Well, kids, it’s show and tell time… hope this doesn’t wreck your lunch. Only 3 weeks ago, I underwent a hand surgery by Dr. Glenn Cohen. He addressed 2 debilitating issues for me as a drummer, keyboard player, and pretty much everything to do with my right hand. And yesterday was f*cking monumental for me to the point of tears…. I have my life back and my money makers.”

Drumstick Twirling Restored

He added, sharing his excitement about regaining the skill to twirl drumsticks:

“And for you drummers and musicians out there, I can say it’s possible to fix! And in the last clip, I’m able to twirl my sticks again… I haven’t been able to do that in a few years because of the Dupytrens Contracture and carpal tunnel issues that are now gone! Dr. Glenn Cohen and the staff there, I am forever grateful.”

Despite initial concerns raised by fans after Lee’s wife, Brittany, shared images of him with a bandaged hand in the hospital, the drummer’s latest updates confirm a successful surgery.

With Lee’s recovery well underway, Mötley Crüe fans can look forward to the band’s return to the stage. The group is scheduled to resume live performances in May, starting at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Their tour itinerary includes appearances at major festivals such as Welcome to Rockville, Summerfest, and will wrap up at the Ottawa Bluesfest in July.
