Tobias Forge, the mastermind behind Ghost, clarified the band’s operational structure in a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK.

“If you want to be super pragmatic, I’m technically a solo artist,” Forge stated. “I don’t have to think in terms of a group, but everybody needs to understand that my job is a group effort.”

“We’re a group working together,” he continued. “If the label is asking Ghost to make a record, they don’t call a group of people — they will call me because it’s my responsibility.”

His statement reinforces his position as Ghost’s primary creative force while acknowledging the band’s collaborative nature.

These comments emerge during a pivotal moment in Ghost’s evolution as the band expands its theatrical presence and musical reach.

Blabbermouth revealed Ghost’s introduction of a new character, Papa V Perpetua. This figure will lead the band during their upcoming 2025 touring cycle, showcasing Forge’s dedication to theatrical evolution.

The band’s structure highlights Forge’s creative authority. uDiscover Music noted that Forge records Ghost’s studio albums solo, handling multiple instruments himself. Live shows feature a complete ensemble of anonymous musicians known as the Nameless Ghouls.

Loudwire reported Ghost’s upcoming world tour schedule. The journey begins in Manchester on April 15. It concludes in Houston on August 16, 2025, presenting their latest theatrical incarnation under Forge’s guidance.

The distinction between Forge’s stage personas and real-life identity serves as Ghost’s foundation. This separation enables him to maintain creative control while delivering ambitious live performances.
