Cannibals and rock might not sound like the best duo to you; however, in Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Bones and All,’ the director lets the audience think that a cannibal Timothee Chalamet rocking to KISS might not be such a bad pair. Recently, Chalamet chatted with Toronto Sun as he discussed his character, Lee, starting to like stadium rock and how he is now a Mötley Crüe fan.

So, after seeing Ralph Fiennes dancing to the Rolling Stones in another Guadagnino film, Chalamet wanted to rock as well, and since the story of the film took place in the ’80s, it was only fair that Lee the cannibal would rock out to some good old KISS. However, to the actor, he was late to the party as he only now enjoyed the stadium rock.

“I didn’t grow up in that era, so I’ll piss a lot of people off by saying that I fully get it,” pointed out Timothee as he discussed researching the period and learning about the ’80s rock scene. “But I’ve done a deep dive on stadium rock or hair rock’ n’ roll. It started with this movie, and then it continued.”

He then recalled an instance when he was introduced to Mötley Crüe’s music in a bar. The actor said, “I was at a bar in New York in the spring, and on the jukebox, there was a bunch of Bob Dylan that I was playing, and then somebody was disgruntled about it, and they went over to and proclaimed, ‘It’s time for some Mötley Crüe!’ There’s more to the story, but now I’m a Mötley Crüe fan.”

So, Chalamet might be late to the party, but he has now embraced the true spirit of the ’80s stadium and hair rock as he names himself a proud Mötley Crüe fan. The actor’s interest in the period was inspired by his character, Lee’s love of rock music, proving the pretty firm bond between music and cinema.
