As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis has indicated that recording a new album is the band’s highest priority following their current tour. This statement was made in a recent interview shared on Egor Erushin.
The frontman discussed the band’s immediate plans and timeline for their upcoming recording project.
“I will say this – as soon as we get home from this tour, it’s our highest priority to focus on that [new album],” Lambesis said. “We cleared everything up so that this is entirely the focus after this.”
Bandmate Chris Clancy also provided additional details about their preparation process and current status.
“We’ve got all the songs ready. We’ve got way more songs than we need, and we’ve been whittling through ’em,” Clancy added. “So we’re gonna sit down while we’re on the road, actually, and kind of do some more development to the songs. And when we get back [home after the tour], we’re gonna really start recording it.”
The comments come as Lambesis continues with the band despite previous controversies that led to the departure of his former bandmates.
This upcoming release represents a significant milestone for the band as they prepare to enter the studio for their next major project. The new album will mark another chapter in the band’s ongoing evolution following recent lineup changes and touring commitments.
Metal Injection reported that the upcoming release will be As I Lay Dying’s ninth studio album. The band has maintained an active recording schedule throughout their career. They have consistently delivered new material to their fanbase despite various challenges and transitions.
Lambgoat confirmed that this new album will serve as the follow-up to 2024’s “Through Storms Ahead.” The band’s recent output demonstrates their commitment to maintaining creative momentum. It also shows their dedication to continuing to produce new music for their dedicated following.
The interview took place during a particularly significant period for the band. Chaoszine noted they are currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album “Shadows Are Security” with a special Russian tour. This anniversary tour provides additional context for the band’s current activities and their plans for future recording projects.
The band has confirmed their readiness to begin the recording process. However, Loaded Radio indicated that no official release date has been announced yet. The timeline will largely depend on the completion of their current touring commitments. It will also depend on the subsequent recording schedule they establish upon returning home.
