Black Sabbath icon Ozzy Osbourne has admirable longevity and success in his music career that spans over more than five decades. His one-of-a-kind image earned him the informal nickname of ‘Prince of Darkness.’ The musician lives up to both of these titles with his music as well as his private life filled with crazy stories.
Osbourne has a long list of incidents that may shock many fans with their level of absurdity. From biting the head of a live bat on stage, drinking his own urine, and snorting a line of ants, to attempting murder of his wife Sharon Osbourne, the list is almost endless.

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi published his memoir, ‘Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven & Hell with Black Sabbath‘ on January 1, 2011. The book was about the musician’s personal life as well as the band’s career including drugs, pressure, and madness. While the book revealed numerous stories about the band, one of the most peculiar ones including Ozzy Osbourne may intrigue you with its unique guest.
Black Sabbath members weren’t only famous for their extraordinary music, they were also known for their excessive substance abuse. Many wild moments in their personal life happened due to drug use such as those mentioned above. Since they had limitless access to every type of drug, it was almost inevitable for them to get bored of being high.
The incident happened at one of those times when Ozzy Osbourne was bored with drugs. Being the witty musician he has always been, the rocker came up with an idea to amuse himself. As Iommi wrote in his book, Osbourne decided to soak a room in shark’s blood after he dismembered the poor animal while on tour with Black Sabbath.
In his book, Iommi penned:
“With drugs always you get bored, so you must do something to one another. Like Ozzy hauling a shark through a window, dismembering it, and soaking our room in blood.”
Although destroying a hotel room is an everyday activity for nearly every rockstar, Ozzy Osbourne added a little bit of spice with his own touch. He didn’t set the room on fire or throw a damaging party like usual, he used a dead shark in the making since he has a reputation to live as the craziest rock star in the entire world.
