The announcement also provided details about the album’s musical direction and featured content.

“Foreign Tongues captures The Rolling Stones sound you know and love – rooted in blues, country, rock and classic Stones songwriting,” they continued. “New single In The Stars streaming now.”

The album will be released through Capitol Records. This marks another chapter in the legendary band’s extensive discography.

This upcoming release represents a significant milestone for the legendary rock band. It marks their 25th studio album and their second major release since the passing of longtime drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.

Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the album was recorded in an intensive session lasting less than a month. Mick Jagger reflected on the creative process, noting, “It was a very intense few weeks… I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”

The album features an impressive lineup of guest appearances that spans multiple generations of rock music. Ultimate Classic Rock revealed that the record includes special contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Most notably, the album will feature a special appearance by the late Charlie Watts, utilizing material from 2021 recording sessions.

The band has already released two tracks from the 14-song album. “In the Stars” serves as the lead single alongside “Cockroaches” and “Rough and Twisted.” The Rolling Stones Shop confirmed that fans can pre-order the album as a limited CD boxset, with a maximum of four copies per customer for U.S. buyers, set to ship on the July 10 release date.

Looking ahead, the band appears to have maintained their creative momentum. Reports indicate they have at least 10 additional songs ready for a potential follow-up album. This suggests that ‘Foreign Tongues’ may be just the beginning of a new creative chapter for the enduring rock icons.
