Tool’s Maynard James Keenan has talked about his upcoming performance at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
In two days, Keenan will perform Ozzy Osbourne’s songs during the ceremony. In a new chat with Allison Hagendorf, the frontman shared his concerns about the performance. “Terrifying. Extremely terrifying,” he answered when asked how he feels about the induction. “This is for him and his song is out of my range, so I’m gonna be struggling to hit the notes. I got the call and I answered.”
The ceremony will take place on October 19 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio. An all-star tribute to the ‘Crazy Train’ singer’s solo career will feature performances not just from Keenan, but from Billy Idol, and country artist Jelly Roll as well. The backing band will include bassist Rob Trujillo, who was in Osbourne’s band before joining Metallica.
It’s still unclear whether or not Osbourne will actually perform during the ceremony. “You never know,” Osbourne said earlier in April this year.
The event will stream live on Disney+ at 7 p.m. EDT and will be available for on-demand streaming afterward. Highlights from the ceremony will be featured in a TV special titled ‘2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,’ airing on January 1 on ABC.
