As you may know, Metallica released their third studio album, ‘Master of Puppets’ on March 3, 1986. It was the last album of Metallica including late bassist Cliff Burton who died in a tragic bus accident. The album received positive reviews from music critics and fans. The self-titled song of the album became one of the most favorite songs of Metallica fans.

Another member of the Big Four, Slayer released their fourth studio album entitled ‘South of Heaven’ on July 5, 1988. The album divided the music critics into two. While most of the critics wrote positive comments for ‘South of Heaven,’ the others criticized the album due to the change in the style of Slayer. However, the album’s tracks, ‘Mandatory Suicide’ and ‘South of Heaven’ were appreciated by the longtime Slayer fans.
