Greta Van Fleet has announced the release of their newest single, “Tear It Down,” in advance of the band’s highly anticipated new studio album, “Palace For The People,” due out October 9, as shared on Instagram.
The announcement touches on themes of change and renewal, framing the new song as a marker of transition for the band ahead of their upcoming record.
“Old worlds must crumble so that new ones can be born,” Greta Van Fleet said in their announcement. “‘Tear It Down’ is out now.”
The single arrives as the latest piece of a larger picture the band has been assembling for months. Additional details about the album’s creation shed light on the direction Greta Van Fleet is taking with this new chapter.
“Palace For The People” was recorded in Tennessee during the spring of 2026. The band co-produced the record alongside Mike Elizondo, a producer known for his work with Turnstile, Eminem, and Fiona Apple. That collaboration shapes an album the band describes as their most modern effort to date, one built around themes of humanity, connection, resilience, and transcendence.
The album spans 13 tracks, with “Tear It Down” landing as the second song on the tracklist. It follows “Into The Beginning” and precedes cuts including “Saw You Stand,” “Heart And The Beat,” and “Born Into This.” This tracklist rounds out a project the band has been teasing since earlier this year.
“Tear It Down” is not the first taste of the record. Greta Van Fleet previously released “Saw You Stand” as an earlier single, giving fans an initial glimpse of the album’s sound before this latest release.
Fans can expect more from the band as they continue building anticipation for “Palace For The People,” set for release on October 9.
