The Offspring’s lead guitarist Noodles announced with a recent post on X that he decided to step down from the platform, saying he can no longer do it.

The rocker shared his reason for quitting X with the following words:

“I’ve had a ton of fun on here with my friends and fans, but I just can’t do it anymore. F*ck Elon Musk. F*ck bigotry on both sides. I’m outta here.”

Fans Express Understanding Of Noodles’ Choice

Considering the fan reactions to his post, they were sad but still understanding toward the musician. One of them wrote:

“I’m sorry to hear that, Noodles, but I understand. The only reason I joined was to follow you and the band. It was great getting to know you these years and meeting you this year! My boys will miss your birthday wishes. Rock on and enjoy the holidays!”

Another one said, expressing their wish for Noodles to stay on the platform:

“You’re not wrong. Just have to filter what you let get to you. Hope you stay, but it’s understandable if you leave. It’s been a pleasure interacting with you on here.”

Some also wanted to keep in touch with the guitarist through other possible platforms he has been involved in. One fan asked:

“Where can we keep on to follow you? Other social media? Give some name…”

Other Artists Leaving X

Noodles is not the only artist who decided to depart from X following Elon Musk’s takeover. In April, Mike Portnoy also shared a statement, revealing his decision to quit the platform. The drummer noted:

“As somebody who has dealt with online imposters, blue check verification is something that I always found to be pretty important to have on social media. With Twitter now stripping everybody of them and enabling anybody to simply buy one and pretend to be anybody with no verification, I think it’s time to bounce from here to avoid any possible confusion or mistaken identity.”

In addition to Noodles and Portnoy, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails was another celebrity who chose to leave X. In response, Musk publicly criticized Reznor, calling him a ‘crybaby’ in a post last year.
