The Movie That Made Anthony Kiedis Cry Twice
Red Hot Chili Peppers are known for their unique music, including signature riffs and Anthony Kiedis‘ one-of-a-kind rapping/singing. The band has signed off to many successful ventures with their musical talents and playful personalities throughout their years.
Their lead singer Kiedis is known to have made it to the headlines with his personal life aside from his professional musical career. Even in RHCP’s music videos and song advertisements, the singer is known to be energetic and unique. With his down-to-earth personality, the frontman had admitted in 2011 that he saw a movie that made him cry twice.
A Musician’s Biopic Made Anthony Kiedis Emotional
In 2011, he told the story of how he was in an airplane with the RHCP producer Rick Rubin and Rubin was watching the newly released Justin Bieber documentary ‘Never Say Never.’ He stated that he cried twice during the movie and explained what got to him the most.
The cheesiness of the fangirls did not matter to Kiedis, but he completely lost it when he saw teenage girls crying their eyes out for free tickets. They were just kids, and seeing children weep made the RHCP icon cry twice.
About watching ‘Never Say Never,’ the singer said:
“I sat on an airplane recently, coming from Hawaii to Los Angeles, with Rick Rubin just across the aisle, watching the Justin Bieber movie, ‘Never Say Never.’ I cried twice during that film, and I want the world to know that! They were doing this very cheesy giveaway of concert tickets to 16-year-old girls.
The cheesiness didn’t matter. It was the reaction of the kids. When I saw those little girls crying deliriously, I lost it. I decided to tell Rick afterward, and he said, ‘I was also sobbing during that point in the movie.’ There you have it.”
‘Never Say Never’ was released in 2011, and it consisted of the concert and behind-the-scenes footage of the pop star Justin Bieber. The musician has been a prominent figure in the pop world and has become known worldwide, especially when he got famous in the beginning at a younger age. Many teenage girls had a crush on him and wanted to meet him, so his meet and greets have always been filled with tears.
