The Darkness had to cancel their latest show in Wellington due to Justin Hawkins’ chest infection. The band took to Instagram to share the bad news with their fans, who stated that the performance was out of the question. Their statement read:

“It is with deep regret that we have to announce that The Darkness cannot perform in Wellington tonight, as Justin has come down with a serious chest infection. Doctors have advised him to rest and told him that performance is out of the question. Justin is devastated, as are the other band members. Ticket and VIP refunds will be available from point of sale. We hope to go ahead as planned in Auckland tomorrow, but please stay tuned for updates. Thanks for your understanding.”

The Darkness, who rarely cancels shows, will continue with their upcoming performances. The shows will conclude on January 27 in Auckland, and they will launch their Australian tour on January 30, ending on February 11 in Carrick, Australia.

While Hawkins himself has not further explained his health issues, we hope he gets well soon.
