After working with Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil, it looks like Taylor Momsen is ready for new collaborations. The singer recently spoke to Ronni Hunter and disclosed that she would be glad to be involved in a joint effort with the Gallagher brothers of Oasis.
When asked about the musicians Momsen wants to work with, she initially stressed the importance of the right song before giving any names:
“I get asked that a lot, and it’s so difficult to pick people because the honest response is that… Well, there are two honest responses. The honest response is that the song has to come first. So, without the song, you have nothing, and a dream collaboration literally means nothing.
I didn’t ask Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil to play on our record until we had ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now.’ It was very fitting and Soundgarden-esque. I was like, ‘They still do this better than we will.’ So, that’s when I called them.”
Momsen then revealed the rockers she would like to collaborate:
“I’m a huge Oasis fan. Liam and Noel are always on my bucket list. I’m a huge Led Zeppelin fan. Jimmy Page, what’s up? There’s a couple. I want to play with people that are better than I am.”
The Pretty Reckless vocalist worked with Thayil and Cameron on the song ‘Only Love Can Save Me Now,’ released as the third single of the band’s 2021 album, ‘Death by Rock and Roll.’ Another song from the same album also featured Tom Morello. Considering the recent developments, it doesn’t seem easy to bring Liam and Noel together for Momsen’s dream collab, but there is always a possibility.
