While rumors of an Oasis reunion have been heating up lately, tensions between the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, continue to escalate. Liam Gallagher took to Twitter to slam his brother over the possibility of a reunion, igniting a public feud that has been ongoing for years.
Liam’s comments came after Noel’s recent remarks on TalkSport radio, calling Liam a ‘coward‘ for not helping organize an Oasis reunion. In response to a Twitter user who asked about Noel’s words, Liam further expressed his frustration by referring to Noel’s past comments when he wished AIDS on Blur during their rivalry in the mid-’90s. Yet, Liam didn’t rule out getting together.
When asked about the possibility of a reunion, Noel responded:
“Well, I put it out there; he won’t call. I mean, he should call me because he’s forever going on about it: you’d have thought by now he’d have some kind of plan. And if he’s got a plan, he should get someone to call… He doesn’t have to speak to me; I know he won’t speak to me; he’s a coward.”
Upon being reminded of these words by a fan, Liam said:
“He’s the coward who wishes AIDS on people and doesn’t show up to play music for his hometown after a tragedy. You want more cunty bollox.”
In another tweet, Liam continued:
“I don’t wish AIDS on people. I turn up and play the music for the people of Manchester who have just had a terror attack while you sit on your dingy sipping champagne, and you got the audacity to call me a coward. Sit down you. End.”
Under the comments, when a user told Liam to be honest about his feelings toward Noel and the reunion, he replied:
“I love my brother, and when he calls me and apologies, we can talk about the reunion.”
Many fans have expressed their desire to see the band reunite, especially with the upcoming anniversary of their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe,’ which will be turning 30 next year. Despite the anticipation, Noel Gallagher had made it clear that there would be no tour and no reunion.
