Steve Perry recently shared how he’s not minding his former act Journey‘s ongoing controversies by posting a snap from a studio session on Instagram and announcing the news of collaborating with Dolly Parton.
Since he officially departed Journey in the late 90s, Perry has had his fair share of feuds, from filing lawsuits against his former bandmates to claiming how Neal Schon and Jon Cain betrayed him. However, these controversies featuring Steve seemed subdued with time as Journey members quickly found the next turbulence to jump onto.
So, it seems that the singer has moved on from all those past dramas to go on his way and form a solo path, as he recently dropped the news of a team-up with country icon and the scene’s latest rocker, Parton.
Steve appeared quite happy while posing in a studio session alongside his sound engineer and writing down a few words to update his fans about his upcoming collaboration with Dolly. The rocker reported that the duo’s single, ‘Open Arms,’ was on its way to being released, as the track was going under its final mixing session.
Perry’s words on getting into the studio and teaming up with Parton:
“Chris Lord-Alge [sound and mixing engineer] and I putting the final mix moves on my ‘Open Arms’ duet with the one and only Dolly Parton. Sincerely, Steve Perry.”
So, it seems that the former frontman has moved on from the chaotic chapter of Journey of his life, carrying on with his solo projects and quite cheerfully announcing that he’d got into the studio with Dolly.
