Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy recently addressed the possibility of reuniting with the band’s original lineup. He shared his thoughts in an interview on The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan.

Pearcy discussed his selective approach to potential collaborations with former bandmates. He emphasized that maintaining a positive atmosphere is his priority.

“I’d play with a lot of my guys again, but some are — is unnecessary. It would only put a negative in the positive,” Pearcy said. “When I’m out there playing, I wanna have a good time. That’s why I’m still out there. It’s not necessary for the buck. It’s great. But I won’t do it [if it’s not fun].”

The vocalist went on to express his enthusiasm for performing and connecting with fans in the current era.

“But I’m always writing and working, whatever. But anyway, the bottom line is now when we go out, I have a great time. And I love talking to the fans because they’re so hardcore and sincere,” he continued. “Besides the tattoos, the Ratt tattoos and their kids [being into Ratt] and clothes and presents, it’s like a whole new world again. It’s exciting and dangerous and colorful again, kinda, because some of us are out there embracing it. ‘Yeah, I’ll wear the same shit I wore back then.’ Why not? That’s why you did it then.”

Pearcy reflected on his position as the remaining active member of the classic lineup and the band’s legacy.

“I’m the last man standing, and I’m proud of what we did. It’s, like, guys, ‘We did a good thing,'” he said. “It’s like Marshall Berle [former Ratt manager] says, ‘Hey, man, you had your moment.’ It was crazy, but it was a beautiful thing. And I just don’t know why — it confuses me sometimes what happens to some people, especially when you give them something that really isn’t theirs. They get a piece of something that they really don’t know how to handle or control… They don’t know how to do their shit. I do, I made it work — many times.”

Pearcy remains cautious about full reunions. His current touring activities demonstrate his commitment to keeping Ratt’s music alive for fans.

The Rock Music podcast reported that Stephen Pearcy has reunited with longtime bandmate Warren DeMartini. The duo has been performing together since earlier in 2025, receiving positive fan responses. This partial reunion represents a compromise between Pearcy’s desire to work with trusted collaborators and his reluctance to engage with problematic former members.

The current touring lineup features an all-star band that includes Carlos Cavazo, Blas Elias, and Matt Thorne. Pearcy’s official website confirmed this information. The band has multiple scheduled performances in 2026, including a Rockageddon show in Highland, California on February 26, and appearances at the Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee from August 21-23.

Ratt’s history of internal conflicts has been well-documented over the years. Ultimate Classic Rock noted that the surviving four members got together again in 2007, but Pearcy left once more in 2014. This highlights the ongoing tensions that continue to influence his current stance on reunions.

The band’s legacy continues to resonate with new generations of fans. This is evidenced by Pearcy’s observations about fans’ children discovering Ratt’s music. This multigenerational appeal provides the vocalist with motivation to continue performing, even if it means doing so without the complete original lineup that helped establish the band’s reputation during the 1980s metal scene.
