Slash is releasing a blues album titled ‘Orgy Of The Damned,’ involving a collaboration with AC/DC’s Brian Johnson.
Slash took to the studio to record his own version of Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Killing Floor,’ where he asked Johnson to not use his ‘AC/DC voice.’ The rocker sat down with Loudwire to discuss the details of his upcoming album. He shared:
“Brian and I are friends, so I called him up. I didn’t know what the legalities of him doing something outside of AC/DC would be, but it all worked out great and he’s just such a sweet guy. He was so much fun to go in the studio and do this with.”
The rocker revealed how Johnson was the most comfortable while covering the song:
“He did actually sing it for a second in the higher register. But it just sounded like AC/DC, so I was like, no, keep it true to the original because he loved that song. It was a big part of his growing up, you know? So he knew the song backward and forward, which I had no idea. He felt most comfortable trying to do it in the way that it was originally sung.”
Slash will release his latest solo project on May 17, and it will include 12 tracks, all of which are blues covers.
Blues Is A ‘Big Influence’ For Slash

Earlier, Slash revealed recording a blues album, referring to it as one of his desires. Posting a teaser video on his social media accounts where he reveals his desire to create a blues record in his career. In the video, Slash is shown in the studio, equipped with a Gibson ES electric guitar, expressing:
“I’m a rock guitar player that’s firmly rooted in blues. If you were to listen to anything that I do, you can see how big the blues influence is, and I always thought that I’d wanna record a record of it at some point. And we got together and did it.”
In addition to his collaboration with the AC/DC rocker, Slash has collaborated with the pop singer Demi Lovato.
