Skid Row guitarist Snake Sabo shared his thoughts about KISS members in an interview with Scott Michael Nathan.

“We’ve been greatly fortunate to play a lot with them [KISS]. I think we have the honor of being the only band that played on both of their farewell tours,” Sabo said. “We played in 2000 with the original band doing their farewell tour. Then a couple of years ago, we played with them on their farewell tour in Europe for multiple dates.”

“Gene [Simmons] lets me get away with everything. I’m just so verbally abusive, and he lets me get away with it because he gets a kick out of it from me,” he continued. “I’m so thankful that he is that way with me.”

“Everyone has their opinions on Gene and his views. But at the end of the day, I think the world of the guy,” Sabo added. “Paul Stanley could not be a sweeter gentleman. Tommy and Eric Singer are fantastic people. I have a great affinity and affection for Ace and Peter as well.”

The long-standing relationship between Skid Row and KISS spans multiple decades and tours.

Research from Last.fm revealed that Skid Row’s connection with KISS began in the late 1990s. The band was initially slated for KISS’s reunion tour. Internal conflicts within Skid Row led to Sebastian Bach’s departure and prevented this early collaboration.

A major breakthrough came when Skid Row joined KISS’s 2000 farewell tour. Documentation from Wikipedia highlighted this tour’s significance. The event featured KISS’s original lineup and gave Skid Row extensive exposure to arena audiences.

Coverage by Glide Magazine noted Snake Sabo’s consistent praise for KISS members. He particularly emphasized their professionalism and lasting influence on rock music.

Skid Row’s participation in both KISS farewell tours has solidified their place in KISS’s touring legacy. This unique distinction demonstrates the strong bond between these influential rock bands.
