Stryper frontman Michael Sweet has weighed in on Quiet Riot’s search for a new lead singer, sharing his pick for the role in a post on Facebook. The comments come after Quiet Riot announced it had officially found a new vocalist without yet revealing his identity.
Sweet explained why he believes singer John Torra would be the right fit for the band, praising both his talent and stage presence.
“Obviously it’s not my band but if it was, I’d pick this guy [John Torra] in a heart beat!” Michael Sweet said. “He’s young, a great singer (technically even better than Kevin in some ways) and nails the vibe and tone. He’d bring a freshness to the band. And some new fans. Including me.”
Sweet’s remarks follow Quiet Riot’s own announcement confirming that a new singer has joined the band. The reveal is still to come.
