Fan Panic Over Sid’s Post

This vague statement led to confusion and worry among fans, as they are accustomed to members frequently leaving the band. Concerned comments flooded in, with one fan writing:

“Christ almighty, I thought he was saying goodbye… Don’t do that to us!”

Another expressed similar fears, saying:

“Jesus, I thought the caption was announcing his departure from Slipknot.”

One other fan noted:

“Sid got everyone thinking he got ‘let go’ for ‘creative reasons’ like everyone else for a second there.”

The fans’ reaction to Wilson’s post is understandable, given Slipknot’s history of lineup changes. In November, the band announced on their official website that drummer Jay Weinberg had left due to artistic differences. They said:

“We would like to thank Jay Weinberg for his dedication and passion over the past ten years. No one can ever replace Joey Jordison’s original sound, style, or energy, but Jay honored Joey’s parts and contributed to the last three albums, and we, the band, and the fans appreciate it.”

In June 2023, Slipknot also shared news about the departure of their long-time keyboardist, Craig Jones, who had been with the band for 27 years.

Wilson is known for frequently changing his mask designs. His masks, often crafted by Ukrainian studio Bob Basset and made of leather, have ranged from styles reminiscent of gas masks to more complex designs. For instance, his mask in the ‘The Devil in I’ video had eye holes with metal grills and a metal mouthplate. For Slipknot’s album ‘We Are Not Your Kind,’ he switched to an animatronic death mask with a black hood.
