Former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach shared a video on Instagram to congratulate new Quiet Riot singer John Torra, but his remarks appeared to reference Skid Row’s recent announcement of a new vocalist.

Bach spoke about his long career and his observations of singers joining and leaving bands over the years. The comments came as Skid Row announced Justin Sargent as their new singer, replacing Erik Grönwall.

“Hello, greetings from Calgary, Alberta, Canada,” Sebastian Bach said in the video. “And I’ve been doing this almost 40 years. Not as long as Rudy Sarzo. But I’m catching up. And I gotta say, I’ve seen a lot of singers come and I’ve seen a lot of singers go. You know what I mean? A lot of guys come in and out of this business.”

“And I gotta say that this mothertrucker has the pipes. There’s no doubt about it. Congratulations on your powerful pipes. Quiet Riot is back.”

A fan asked for a Skid Row reunion, saying, “We need a skid row reunion Sebastian!!” Bach was direct about his position. “Not interested in being number 11,” he wrote.

Another fan pointed to Bach’s remarks about singers coming and going. “The singers you’ve seen ‘come and go’ is the person you look at in the mirror every morning,” the commenter wrote.

Bach pushed back on this criticism. “Except I’ve been here doing this for 40 years jackass.”

The exchange occurred on social media following Skid Row’s announcement of their new singer.

Skid Row’s former lead vocalist has made his stance on reunion talks very clear. Skid Row bassist Rachel Bolan said about a reunion with Bach: “It’s not gonna happen.” Bach himself acknowledged in a February 2026 podcast appearance that his former bandmates Rachel Bolan and Dave “Snake” Sabo had not moved forward on any reunion plans, despite his repeated public statements that the original lineup could reunite.

Erik Grönwall, who had performed with Skid Row since early 2022, left the band in March 2024 due to health concerns. After more than two years away from the stage and conducting an extensive global search, Skid Row found their replacement. Justin Sargent is a singer and actor with Broadway experience in Hamilton, Rock of Ages, and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and has performed with John Legend, Alice Cooper, Sara Bareilles, Dee Snider, and other artists.

To introduce Sargent as their new frontman, Skid Row released a new recording of The Who’s classic “Won’t Get Fooled Again” with an accompanying music video. The track marked both Sargent’s debut with the band and a statement of the band’s direction as it moves forward with its new vocalist.

John Torra, whom Bach congratulated in his video, joined Quiet Riot as its new lead singer in September 2026 at age 23. Torra came to the band’s attention after posting videos on social media of himself performing Quiet Riot songs following the departure of vocalist Jizzy Pearl in July 2026.
