Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix recently opened up about how his Christian faith has influenced the band’s new music, particularly discussing their upcoming song “Wake Up Calling” in an interview with Loudwire.

Shaddix shared details about the band’s current album progress and the personal meaning behind their new material.

“We have a tour in the UK and Europe in November and we’d love to be able to have the album finished up,” Shaddix said. “We’re working on the album artwork right now. We’re in the final throes of this thing. I’ve got one more studio session to go run into, Tony [Palermo] has drums, and so we’re coming into the final touches.”

The frontman explained the creative process behind their songwriting and the deeper meaning of their new track.

“When we’re creating an album, we’re looking for pieces to a puzzle,” he continued. “Lyrically, [this song] is about who and what in my life brings me back to life, who rattles my cage, you know?”

Shaddix then revealed how his faith plays a central role in both his personal life and musical expression.

“It’s also about my faith and my hope in Christ,” he said. “I need the Lord. I need my relationship with God to keep me right-sized and to keep me humble because it keeps me on the right path.”

“Sharing my faith is important to me,” Shaddix added. “Following Christ has been such a pivotal thing for me in my life and it’s such a personal revolution and a personal awakening and enlightening, [it’s] just given me hope and I want to share that with the world.”

The band’s upcoming release represents a significant milestone in their career trajectory. They continue to evolve their sound while maintaining their core identity.

“Wake Up Calling” serves as the third single from Papa Roach’s highly anticipated 12th studio album, Parade reported. The album is set for release in 2026. This marks another chapter in the band’s extensive discography that spans over two decades.

The band has been strategically releasing music throughout the year to build anticipation for their upcoming record. Blabbermouth confirmed that Shaddix stated “Even If It Kills Me” marks the first single from their 12th studio album. More tracks are planned for release throughout 2026.

The band’s upcoming European tour, dubbed “Rise Of The Roach,” will take them to major arenas across the UK and Ireland in November 2026. Livewire Music detailed that the tour includes stops at prestigious venues such as Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Dublin’s 3Arena, and London’s O2 Arena. This demonstrates the band’s continued drawing power in international markets.

Papa Roach’s ability to maintain relevance and connect with audiences after more than 25 years in the music industry speaks to their adaptability and the authentic nature of their artistic expression. The integration of Shaddix’s personal faith journey into their music represents a natural evolution for the band. They continue to explore themes that resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners.
