Sebastian Bach Praises Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Anti-Gun Anthem

Sebastian Bach recently took to his Twitter to express his thoughts on gun control laws and showed appreciation towards a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, which he defined as an anti-gun anthem.

The Constitution’s Second Amendment allows US citizens to bear arms. Although this might be useful when it comes to self-defense, there are also downsides. As the government cannot control each person who owns a gun, those with severe mental health issues also have a chance to carry arms with them.

As a result, there have been frequent mass shootings in the US, especially in schools. While some people support the citizens’ right to bear arms, others protest against the gun control laws in the country. Sebastian Bach is also among those who want the government to take action to prevent these incidents and regulate who can obtain them.

In May 2022, an 18-year-old man attacked Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, while another man who was the same age shot and killed ten people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. After the news, Bach asked Joe Biden to take action against these attacks and stated he hates guns while referencing a Lynyrd Skynyrd song.

In a recent tweet, Antonio Arellano stated that the families affected by the Uvalde shooting demanded Abbott take action on gun safety and that the age to buy an assault weapon should be raised to 21. After seeing this tweet, Bach quoted the lines from Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Saturday Night Special,’ which suggests throwing all guns to the bottom of the sea.

Bach then quoted another tweet posted by Tommy Hough, who is running for San Diego City Council. Hough also mentioned the same song in his tweet and stated Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ronnie Van Zant made the most urgent anti-gun anthem with ‘Saturday Night Special.’ The rocker confirmed this and indicated rock and roll stands up for the right thing.

Antonio Arellano said the following in his tweet:

“Breaking: Uvalde parents have descended upon the State Capitol in Austin, Texas, to demand Governor Abbott take immediate action on gun safety. I’m with these families. Let’s raise the age to buy an assault weapon to 21!”

Upon seeing this, Sebastian Bach responded:

“Or we can listen to what Lynryd Skynyrd says: ‘Throw them all to the bottom of the sea / Before some fool comes around here / Who might shoot either you or me.'”

In another tweet, Tommy Hough stated:

“No matter what revisionists say, there’s no disputing Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Saturday Night Special,’ and Ronnie Van Zant was nobody’s fool. ‘Handguns are made for killing; they are no good for nothing else.’ Still one of rock’s most urgent anti-gun anthems.”

Quoting this tweet, Bach said:

True rock n’ roll stands up for what is right.
