Sammy Hagar has officially announced the return of his annual Birthday Bash for 2026. The rock legend will celebrate his 79th birthday with three nights of festivities at his iconic Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Hagar took to social media to share the news directly with his fans, confirming the dates for the upcoming celebration.
“Are you ready? Yup, it’s Birthday Bash time and dates are now locked in at the Cabo Wabo Cantina for Oct 9/11/13,” Hagar said.
The event is known for its spontaneous and star-studded nature. The official press release hinted at what fans can expect throughout the weekend.
“Sammy’s Birthday Bash is always an open invitation to friends,” the press release read. “So you never know what special guests and surprise performances will happen throughout the weekend.”
The three-night event will take place on October 9, 11, and 13 at the Cabo Wabo Cantina. October 13 marks Hagar’s actual birthday.
The Birthday Bash has long been one of rock’s most beloved annual traditions. It draws some of the biggest names in the industry to the intimate Cabo venue year after year.
Tickets will not be sold through conventional channels. Fans must register for a random drawing on Hagar’s official site between July 20 and 31, 2026. Selected attendees will be notified on August 3.
The 2026 event will feature Hagar’s core band — Michael Anthony, Vic Johnson, and Kenny Aronoff — alongside a roster of confirmed special guests. Phil X of Bon Jovi, Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, and Belinda Carlisle are among those already set to appear throughout the weekend.
Past editions of the Birthday Bash have consistently delivered memorable moments. Surprise appearances have become a hallmark of the event. Previous years have seen rock icons such as Rick Springfield, Joey Belladonna of Anthrax, and Deen Castronovo of Journey take the stage alongside Hagar.
