Sammy Hagar performed Pink Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb’ for the first time at Alice Cooper’s Christmas Pudding 2023 concert.

On December 9, the Red Rocker surprised everyone by joining Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson during her cover of ‘Comfortably Numb.’ He sang and played guitar on the song. Later, Hagar shared a clip of his performance on Instagram and wrote:

“Last night was the first time I’ve ever played that solo on one of my favorite songs of all time. Nancy Wilson, thank you for letting me sit in with you and for bringing those sweet harmonies.”

Hinting At The Duet With Nancy Wilson

After Wilson left, the singer smoothly transitioned into his own performance. Hagar had hinted at his performance with Nancy by posting a photo with her on Instagram. He wrote in the caption:

“Always a pleasure hanging out with my long-time friend, the queen of rock, Nancy Wilson. Just finished rehearsing for our duet for Alice Cooper charity event, Christmas Pudding.”

Making Up For Last Year’s Absence

Hagar was scheduled to perform at last year’s Christmas Pudding, but he had to withdraw on the day of the event due to the flu. The vocalist performed popular songs like ‘There’s Only One Way to Rock,’ ‘I’ll Fall in Love Again,’ and Van Halen’s ‘Finish What Ya Started,’ involving the audience in a call-and-response. The set ended with a lively group singalong of ‘I Can’t Drive 55.’ Hagar also took a moment to apologize for missing last year’s event.

Special Guests And Performances At The Event

At this year’s event, special guests included Quiet Riot, Tommy DeCarlo from Boston, and the Nashville cover band Sixwire, who supported guests without their own bands. Alice Cooper took the stage at 11 p.m. looking sharp in a crimson dinner jacket, black ruffled shirt, leather gloves, and jeans.

He led Sixwire in a thrilling performance focused on his early ’70s hits like ”No More Mr. Nice Guy,’ ‘Be My Lover,’ ‘I’m Eighteen,’ and ‘Under My Wheels.’ He also played the newer ‘Lost in America’ from his 1994 album, ‘The Last Temptation.’
