Sammy Hagar Responds To The Concerns About His ‘Terrible’ Sound
Former Van Halen singer and the frontman of The Circle, Sammy Hagar has responded to the fan remarks about his terrible sound in an Instagram post.
Known as The Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar rose to prominence back in the 1970s with the band Montrose. Following that, he pursued a successful solo career, producing hits like 1984’s ‘I Can’t Drive 55.’ Hagar then replaced David Lee Roth in 1985 to become the lead singer of Van Halen and enjoyed considerable commercial success. Although he left the band in 1996, he returned to working with them between 2003 and 2005. Currently, Hagar is the lead singer of Chickenfoot and Sammy Hagar And The Circle.
As you might know, Sammy Hagar performed several times in the past as part of pre-race festivities at Texas Motor Speedway. During the performances, he teamed up with Vic Johnson, Michael Anthony, and Jason Bonham, the members of The Circle. Recently, the Red Rocker shared a video on his Instagram which featured one of these shows.
In his Instagram post, Sammy Hagar announced that his Sammy’s Beach Bar rum brand is now available at all Spec’s stores in Texas. He included The Circle’s Texas Motor Speedway performance of ‘Right Now’ in the post, and fans expressed their thoughts on the show in the comments section. It appears one of them was concerned with Hagar’s voice as he said the performance sounds terrible. Upon seeing this, Hagar said that it was due to where the one who recorded it was standing.
Sammy Hagar’s Instagram post read:
“Speaking of ‘Right Now,’ Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum is available right now at all Spec’s stores throughout Texas! Get it while it lasts.”
In the comments section, one of the fans said:
“I love Sammy, but this sounds terrible. What happened?!”
Sammy Hagar then explained the reason:
“It is a film from somebody’s iPhone in the audience. It depends on where you’re standing while recording. These things can sound way off from what it really sounded like.”
On a side note, Sammy Hagar And The Circle released their latest album titled ‘Lockdown 2020’ on January 8, 2021. The album featured the band’s virtual jam sessions which took place during the quarantine. ‘Lockdown 2020’ includes covers of rock legends like David Bowie, AC/DC, and The Who, as well as one new song.
