Rush returned to the stage for the first time since bassist and vocalist Geddy Lee was diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. The illness had previously forced the band to postpone two shows on their ‘Fifty Something’ tour. The comeback performance took place at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX on July 11, 2026, as can be seen in fans’ footage.

Fans who watched the show were quick to share their reactions. Many praised both Geddy Lee’s adjusted vocal performance and the band’s overall tightness on stage.

One fan noted the subtle changes Lee made to protect his voice throughout the set.

“Geddy has made some very subtle adjustments to his breathing and singing to spare his voice for when he needs it the most,” the fan said. “It’s good to see those hard to spot adjustments but whatever will get him through this tour I’m all for it. Alex is phenomenal in so many ways. There are no words for Anika — she is something special.”

Another fan echoed the positive sentiment, keeping their review brief but enthusiastic.

“They sounded great, even Geddy’s vocals,” the fan said. “Anika was……on fire!!!”

A third fan focused on the band’s cohesion and Lee’s visible recovery since the postponements.

“They haven’t missed a beat….Glad to see Geddy looking and sounding healthy again,” the fan said. “I think this break was good for them. They are so tight! Hopefully they all stay healthy! Incredible audio and video quality! Thanks for the hard work getting this together and in such a short time! Awesome job!”

The July 11 show was itself a rescheduled date. The band had previously been forced to postpone shows at Dickies Arena due to unforeseen travel and border-related delays following performances in Mexico City. The health-related postponements that followed made the Fort Worth comeback all the more anticipated.

The ‘Fifty Something’ tour marks Rush’s first major tour since the R40 Live run in 2015. It is one of the most significant returns in rock in recent memory. The tour kicked off on June 7, 2026 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. It drew immediate attention from fans and critics who had waited over a decade for the band to hit the road again.

Demand for the tour has been substantial. Rush expanded the run by adding 11 additional dates, with four shows now scheduled at each stop in Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Toronto, and Chicago.

With the health scare now behind them and the crowd response in Fort Worth overwhelmingly positive, Rush appears to be hitting its stride at exactly the right moment. The remaining tour dates, including upcoming stops in Chicago, are now firmly in focus as the band continues one of the most talked-about comebacks of 2026.
