Rush Drummer Neal Peart’s Father Glen Passes Away After Battling Against Cancer

Glean Peart, who’s known as the father of the late Rush drummer Neil Peart, passed away on June 12, 2021, after fighting courageously against cancer, and his passing was announced by his loving family.

As you may recall, the rock world mourned the death of Rush’s primary lyricist and drummer Neil Peart on January 7, 2020. The talented musician was known for his great drumming skills and was praised for his technical proficiency and unending stamina. Unfortunately, he passed away after a three-and-a-half-year battle against an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma.

His father Glen who outlived his son also had a fierce battle with cancer, but unfortunately, he passed away too on June 12, 2021. The Peart family shared the sad news through their social media accounts and thanked everyone for their expressions of sympathy and love.

Glen Peart was deeply loved by Rush fans and crew members who had the chance to interact with him in various instances. Numerous fans and friends shared their heartwarming stories about Glen and sent their deepest condolences to the Peart family.
